So just who is Son Goku? Here's a little information about the Earth raised Saiyajin.

Basic Information
Son Goku is the main character in the DragonBall series (including DragonBall and DragonBall Z/Kai, and if you want to include it, DragonBall GT). Introduced to us as a native child, living alone after the death of his grandfather (the legendary Son Gohan), it is at a small house located in Mount Pazo that Goku's adventure begins. After stumbling upon Bulma, a teenage girl who later on becomes one of Goku's close friends, the two go off searching for the mystical DragonBalls. What turns out for a simple quest, later turns out to be one great adventure as Goku meets new friends, new enemies, and everything else in between.
